====== User roles ====== There are 3 kinds of users (or //roles//) in a polifonic wiki: * wiki meister * wiki admin * and wiki user. ===== Wiki meister ===== A wiki meister is the user who created the wiki in the first place. There is only one wiki meister per wiki. The wiki meister has full control over the wiki. This includes: * full control over all pages of the wiki * full access to the wiki administration pages * full control of wiki operations (disable, enable, close) Some privileges are only available to wiki meisters: * promote other users to the [[#wiki-admin|wiki admin]] role * demote other users from [[#wiki-admin|wiki admin]] role * close the wiki In addition, only the wiki meister has access to his account at https://www.polifonic.io. ===== Wiki admin ===== A wiki admin is a user who has been granted administrative control over a wiki by the wiki meister. There are no limits to the number of wiki admins in a wiki. Only the wiki meister can promote users to wiki admins. Wiki admins have almost the same privileges as wiki meisters: * full control over all the wiki's pages * full access to the wiki administrative pages -- with the following exceptions: Features **not available to wiki admins** : * wiki admins cannot promote/demote other users to/from wiki admin role * wiki admins cannot close the wiki * wiki admins cannot re-enable a wiki In addition, wiki admins do not have access to the wiki mister's account at https://www.polifonic.io. ===== Wiki users ===== Wiki users are all other users. They have access to the wiki pages according to the permissions that have been given to them by the wiki meister or the wiki admins. Wiki users do not have access to the wiki's administration pages. Needless to say, they do not have the ability to promote others users to/demote other users from the wiki admin role. They do not have access to the wiki mister's account on https://www.polifonic.io.
